🎄 Cops, Kids, and Christmas Magic! 🎁 This holiday season, Brooks County School District spread joy through our annual Cops, Kids, and Christmas event! 📢Great Morning, Trojan Nation! 🎉🏀Congratulations to our Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball Teams! Our Girls are 4-0 on the season, garnering victories over Berrien and Cairo last week. Our Boys earned a big win over Cairo as well. Both will be riding winning streaks as they head into the Thomasville Hoopfest later this week. Times are set for Thursday (see attached calendar), and will be updated with Friday and Saturday's game times as soon as we know. Best of luck, Trojan Basketball! 🎉🏈Congratulations to all who played a part in making our run to the 2024 State Championship with our Football Team one to remember. Although we did not come out on top, we are all so proud of the team, band, cheerleaders, and auxiliary for providing excitement and an opportunity for Brooks County to come together as one. I may be a little biased in saying, but I firmly believe we had the best fan base who made the trip up to Atlanta Monday. 🌟 Shining Star Alert! 🌟 Meet Conner Maple, a 6th grader at Brooks County Middle School, who truly made a difference! 🎉 During a moment of conflict on the bus, Conner stepped up with kindness and leadership, helping two students resolve their disagreement peacefully. To honor his incredible act, Chief Casey Cope presented Conner with a Challenge Coin and a certificate, recognizing him for his outstanding leadership and positive impact. 👏💙 Conner’s actions remind us all of the power of understanding, empathy, and the difference one person can make. 🌱 Exciting News for The Nature Nook! 🌱 We’re thrilled to announce that Mrs. Candace Brasington, Gifted Coordinator at North Brooks Elementary School, has been awarded a $5,000 Georgia Outdoor Learning Demonstration (GOLD) Grant from the Georgia Department of Education to fund Phase 2 of The Nature Nook! 🎉 With this funding, she will be adding a pollinator garden, benches, mulch, and more to expand this outdoor learning space. Our AG students will help maintain the area, gaining hands-on experience while connecting with nature. 🌸🌿 This space will serve as a hands-on classroom, allowing students to explore science, math, and language arts through real-world activities. The Nature Nook is growing into a lasting resource for our students and teachers! We are excited as we build our outdoor nature area where curiosity blooms, learning flourishes, and of course where Good Things can Grow Here!🍃🌻
