Earlier this week, four exceptional individuals took their oath and officially joined our police force. 👮👮 In an effort to strengthen security and support across its schools, the Brooks County School District Police Department, led by Chief Casey Cope, swore in four officers. This expansion of the department plays a critical role in ensuring a safe learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff. #SwornIn #CommunityFirst #NewOfficers #ServiceAndIntegrity

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 On September 5th, the first ABAC Foundation Board Meeting of the 2024-2025 school year took place at our Performing Arts Center! 🎭 It was a day of collaboration and community, with leaders from ABAC, Brooks County Schools, and beyond coming together. Special guests included Georgia School Superintendent Richard Woods, Senator Sam Watson, State Representative John LaHood, Board of Education Chair Larry Cunningham, and Board of Education Vice Chair Kasey Knight along with many others! A community luncheon was co-hosted by ABAC and Brooks County School District.🙌 After a productive meeting, participants enjoyed an ice cream social at the brand-new Harley Langdale Jr. Agricultural Barn 🍦🚜 Guests enjoyed talking to our Ag teachers and FFA members. We're excited about this ongoing partnership and what it means for the future! 🌱

Three outstanding students from Brooks County Middle School were honored with a certificate and a commemorative coin in recognition of their exceptional efforts in peacefully resolving conflicts, both on the school bus and in the classroom. Chief Casey Cope of the Brooks County Schools Police Department praised their actions, saying, 'These students have set a remarkable example of leadership and responsibility, showing that there are always peaceful ways to address challenging situations. We are proud of their quick thinking and dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.'"

📢Great Morning, Trojan Nation! 🎉🏐 Congratulations to our entire Volleyball Program!  The BCMS Lady Trojans knocked off Georgia Christian, while our BCHS Ladies went 3-0 for the week, taking down Cook, Mitchell County, and Chattahoochee County.  The final 2 wins also opened the region schedule in perfect fashion.  Great job ladies!! 🎉🥎 Congratulations to our BCHS Softball team for its first region victory over Echols Co, 15-3.  That should get the ball rolling as they look for another big week. 🎉🏈 Congratulations to our BCHS Football Program for its domination over Cook last week.  The JV scored a victory on Thursday night 18-6, while the Varsity dismantled the Hornets 45-14.  🎉Thank you to the band, cheerleaders, and auxiliary team for providing an awesome atmosphere.  ⚠A HUGE shout-out to our crowd who traveled to Adel to fill the entire visitor's bleachers.  Let's keep that same mentality heading to Sylvester this week, and bring even more support for all who make Friday nights special. 📢Although it's a short week, it is still action-packed with multiple home events Wednesday and Thursday.  Thank you for all you do for our student-athletes! #UN1TY🔗 #GoTrojans🔵🔴

👮Meet the men behind the Badge👮 👮 Last, but certainly not least. We have three part-time officers that patrol all of our campuses and assist with athletic events. 👮 Officer Christian Acevedo works full time with the Quitman Police Department. He has a vested interest in the safety of our Trojans as he has children in the school system. Officer Acevedo is fluent in Spanish and also referees soccer games in our community. 👮 Officer Rick Parker works full time with the Brooks County Sheriff Office. He also has a child in the Brooks County School System. Officer Parker enjoys fishing in his free time and watching college and high school football. 👮 Officer Ken Wheeler retired from the Lowndes County Sheriff Office, where he served as a SRO and a DARE instructor for many years. He enjoys cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide football on Saturdays.
