Early Learning Center Principal Ready for New Year

“My main goal for the 2021-2022 school year is to not look back.  That may sound strange to some considering what we have just endured. The pandemic was a year of challenges and fear for everyone and everywhere, including schools.  I cannot continue to look at the past year as a challenge. It has to be a learning experience.  It changed my behavior, my life, and my practices. What the last year really taught me was appreciation. This year, I am going to take the past year's learning experiences and begin looking forward. I am looking forward to allowing parents in our building, volunteers to help, and the return of our parent involvement programs. Of course, I will continue to use wisdom and proper protocols in these areas to keep everyone safe.  I will never forget the past, but I will not dwell on it.  I will take the lessons that it taught me, learn and grow from them, and look ahead to much brighter days. I cannot wait to welcome the new staff, students and parents who will forever be part of the ELC family. ” stated Sam Harden. Mrs. Harden is beginning her third year as principal of Brooks County Schools’ Early Learning Center which opened in August of 2017.  With over 18 years of experience, Harden has served students as an English Language Arts teacher. She also has video production teaching experience.  She and husband, Dr. Clark Harden have two sons, Jaycee (age 20) and Camden (age 15). Also important members of her family are dogs Nala and Shug, her grandpup. During her leisure time, Harden enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
