Quitman Elementary School recently welcomed educators and students from across the region for a special Leader in Me Community Day, highlighting its dedication to fostering leadership skills in students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
During the event, student leaders proudly led guests on guided tours of the school, offering a glimpse into how leadership principles are woven into daily learning. Visitors had the opportunity to observe Leader in Me lessons taught by dedicated teachers and staff, providing insight into how the program encourages personal growth, goal-setting, and accountability.
A key highlight of the event was students presenting their leadership binders, which document their goals, progress, and achievements throughout the school year. These interactive sessions allowed attendees to see firsthand how young learners take ownership of their success.
Quitman Elementary Principal Josh Price expressed his enthusiasm for the day’s events, emphasizing the positive impact the Leader in Me program has on students.
“Today was an incredible day of collaboration and learning at Quitman Elementary School,” Price said. “Our students were absolutely outstanding, and we couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to showcase their growth and leadership. We firmly believe in the impact of Leader in Me and the positive influence it has on our students. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow into the remarkable leaders we know they can be.”
The Leader in Me initiative, which is designed to instill leadership qualities in students from a young age, is an integral part of Quitman Elementary’s mission to develop well-rounded, goal-oriented learners. The event served as an inspiring example of how leadership education is making a meaningful difference in the lives of students, setting a strong foundation for their future success.
