Lamar Thomas

At the November Brooks County Board of Education meeting, President Larry Cunningham honored Lamar Thomas, Principal of Delta Innovative School, for his numerous professional accomplishments, acknowledging his commitment to both educational leadership and student success.

Mr. Thomas has recently earned certification as a speaker and membership in the esteemed John Maxwell Leadership Team, an organization dedicated to empowering leaders in education, business, and community development. This certification underscores his commitment to fostering leadership within Brooks County Schools and his dedication to positively influencing students, staff, and the broader community.

In addition to this honor, Mr. Thomas has been elected to serve as the President of the Georgia Association of Alternative Education (GAAE). This prestigious role places him at the forefront of alternative education in the state, where he will advocate for best practices, support alternative educational frameworks, and champion the unique needs of students across Georgia. His work with GAAE aims to promote innovative educational pathways for students who may not thrive in traditional school settings, ensuring that all learners receive the support they need to succeed.
