The Brooks County School District's Maintenance Department received a well-deserved recognition for their outstanding work at the most recent Board of Education meeting. Board of Education President Larry Cunningham, Vice President Kasey Knight, along with Director of Facilities Jack Pridgen, took the opportunity to commend the dedicated team for their exceptional contributions to the district's schools and facilities. The work that the maintenance team does often goes unnoticed, but it is crucial to the daily operations of our schools. Without their commitment and attention to detail, our students, teachers, and staff would not have the quality learning environments they deserve.

A notable achievement highlighted during the recognition was the recent demolition of the Rutherford Complex. The Maintenance Department undertook this project with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring minimal disruption to the district’s operations and saving the district a significant amount of money.

Jack Pridgen, the Director of Facilities, echoed President Cunningham's praise of their stellar work, adding, "Our maintenance team is truly the backbone of this district. They are the first to respond to any issues, whether it's a leaky roof, a broken HVAC system, or routine upkeep. Their hard work ensures that our facilities remain in top condition, and I couldn't be more proud of the work they do."

The Brooks County School District takes pride in the exceptional performance of its maintenance department, and this recognition is a small but meaningful way to thank them for their invaluable contributions. As the district continues to grow and improve, the Maintenance Department will remain a critical part of its success, ensuring that every school day begins in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
