Congratulations to our NBES August Student and Teacher of the Month--Avery and Ms. Simpson!
Our Student of the Month is Avery Spires, a second grader in Ms. Morse's class. Avery had lots of Good Job Coupons this month, and all of her teachers agreed that she is respectful, responsible, and compassionate. Avery received a goodie basket, a principal phone call home, and a yard sign to showcase her accomplishment.
Our Teacher of the Month is Candace Simpson, our Gifted Coordinator and teacher. She was nominated numerous times on this month's ballot, and has received awesome shout outs from parents and teachers alike! Ms. Simpson received a tote bag, a candle, a Chick-Fil-A gift card, and a yard sign.
Many awesome students and teachers were nominated. We can't wait to see who will make next month's list!
North Brooks Elementary will hold two special events this week! Kindergarten Kickoff will be held Wednesday, August 4th, from 12:30-1:30 for all incoming NBES kindergartners and parents. Open House will be held Thursday, August 5th, from 4:00-6:00. The first day of school is Monday, August 9th. We look forward to seeing all of our students and families this week and next!

NBES Virtual Students: Please be sure to arrive at NBES campus for GMAS testing by 12:15 Tues-Thursday for 3rd-5th, Friday (5th only). Lunch will be provided. Testing procedures begin at 12:50 and the test begins at 1:00. Dismissal is approximately as follows: Tues 2:45, Wed. 4:00, Thursday 3:30, and Friday (5th grade only) 2:30. Thank you
NBES: Please be sure that your children are at school on time Tues-Friday of this week. At 7:50, our 3rd-5th GMAS testing procedures will begin! The test begins promptly at 8:15. There will be no admittance to testing if a student is late. Your child will have to stay in the afternoon to make up the test and you will have to provide transportation. For any students that are absent, they will have to make up those sessions of the test. Please help us by arriving early and on time, having your child get a good night of sleep, and encouraging him/her to eat breakfast.
NBES Reminder: Early Dismissal today and rest of the week due to GMAS testing. (May 17th-May 21st) Car Rider dismissal will begin at 11:20 AM. Car riders should be picked up no later than 11:50 AM. No early check outs will be allowed after 10:45 AM. Bus dismissal will begin at 11:30 AM. Attendance will be important! Traditional students will take the GMAS in the morning and virtual students will take the GMAS in the afternoon.

BBQ Fundraiser! Help us reach our goal by ordering a Boston Butt or BBQ sandwich meal today!! If you need an order form, contact the school at 229-588-2344. Orders are due Friday, April 23rd . Pickup will be April 29th, 2021 between 12:00 PM -4:00 PM at North Brooks Elementary School. Thank you for supporting our students!

NBES Virtual Students: The PTO Fun Run is this Friday, March 26th. Virtual students can participate. Here are the scheduled times for each grade level for the run: 5th 8:30-9:30, 3rd 9:30-10:15, 2nd 10:20-11:05, Kindergarten 11:40-12:25, 1st 12:30-1:15, 4th 1:20-2:05. If your child is participating in the run, then the registration form has to be submitted to the front office with payment. If you want to stop by and purchase only Kona Ice, Face Tattoos, and/or photo booth pictures, you may come at any time from 8:30-1:30 and report to the side parking lot where the Kona Ice truck is located and the Face Tattoos and Photo opp. During the event, it will be cash only.
Kona Ice prices range from $3.00-$6.00 based on size.

To run, you must complete the registration form and prepay. $20 for the Fun Run and includes King sized Kona Ice, Face Tattoo, & Photo booth picture. $10 for the Fun Run and includes a King sized Kona Ice. All students including students that don't participate in the Fun Run can purchase the following during the event: Face Tattoos $1.00, Photo Booth Pictures $1.00, and Kona Ice priced based on sizes from $3.00 to $6.00. Cash only during the event. This is a PTO Fundraiser! Be sure to send your child dressed appropriately for the event. Thank you for your support!
NBES: Wed. & Thurs. (March 24th-25th), we will be administering the GADOE Beacon test to our 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade students. The BEACON provides the feedback needed for grades 3rd-5th students to master grade-level academic requirements/standards,
and to help teachers plan instruction and administrators make well-informed decisions. DRC BEACON’s content represents
Georgia’s college- and career-ready expectations. The information gained from this assessment will help us identify areas (standards) that we need to focus on prior to giving the GMAS in May. We are excited that the GADOE has offered this opportunity. BEACON does not count as a grade. NBES Virtual Students: Curriculum packets that go along with our virtual learning program for Term 4 will be available to be picked up starting tomorrow, March 24th at the front office. Term 4 begins Wednesday, March 24th.
NBES: Fun Run Registration forms come home today. Please return Monday./ Spring Basketball Clinics begins April 13-15th, Tues., Wed., & Thurs. 4:15-5:30. Open to all girls currently in 4th-8th grades. Must have current physical on file. Parents must provide valid transportation to and from workouts. Try Outs- Tues-Thurs April 27-29 @ BCMS Girls 4th-7th. for 2021 Lady Trojans A & B Teams
NBES: We are excited about our upcoming RACE TO SUMMER FUN RUN that will be held Friday, March 26th. Registration forms will go home this week. The Kona Ice truck will be here (prices range from $3.00 for a small to $6.00 for the extra large with a souvenior cup). There will also be tattoos and refreshments for sale. Please complete the registration form and help support our PTO.
