CURRICULUM & SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GOALS
Regular Education Program addresses the needs of students performing at grade level (K-5). North Brooks Elementary School follows the standards set by the Georgia Department of Education's Georgia Performance Standards Curriculum. Special Education Program addresses the needs of students who require special individualized instruction in mastering the skills for their grade level. Special testing is required (K-5).
Early Intervention Program (EIP) provides additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level to help them obtain the necessary skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.
Gifted Program addresses the needs of gifted and talented students, who are capable of moving at an accelerated rate. Special testing is required (K-5).
School Improvement Goals
Goal 1: NBES will increase the percentage of students in 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade who meet the state grade level Lexile target, as measured by the Reading section of the 2025 Georgia Milestones Assessment by 3%; NBES students in grades K-2 will increase in reading growth/progress by 3% from August 2024 to May 2025, as measured by the Acadience Reading assessment.
Goal 2: NBES will increase the percentage of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students scoring achievement levels 3 and 4 (Proficient and Above) on the Math section of the 2025 Georgia Milestones Assessment by 3%; NBES students in grades K-2 will increase in math growth/progress by 3% from August 2024 to May 2025, as measured by the iReady assessment tools.
Goal 3: NBES will reduce the percentage of students absent greater than 10% of enrolled days by 3%, decreasing from 26.54% in 2024 to 25.74% in 2025.
