NORTH BROOKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
We pride ourselves on being the best that we can be every day for our students, parents, and our community. A strong dedication exists among our administration, faculty, and staff to ensure that our students are receiving a quality education while having fun. We pride ourselves on small class sizes so that our teachers can work more closely one-on-one with our students. Our school has a large supply of up to date technology enhanced devices that are used to meet the needs of our students and to challenge them using advanced technology.
Although we are a small school, we have a large family atmosphere. We employ a full-time nurse, counselor, and media specialist to support our students in all areas. Our teachers are fully certified and highly qualified. Our teachers have the opportunity to collaboratively plan together and are involved in professional learning opportunities each week so that best practices and innovative ideas for teaching can be shared and utilized for all students.
North Brooks Elementary is a diverse learning community built on respect, shared responsibility and personal and community safety. We serve a population of approximately 360 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Our goal is to raise student achievement through performance-based instruction that is both rigorous and relevant. The learning goals for North Brooks Elementary are based upon criteria set forth by the State of Georgia's Department of Education. We strive to ensure that every child experiences the joys of learning, self-discovery, success and acceptance enabling each student to reach their highest potential.
We provide all students with the opportunity to develop and apply literacy strategies and skills with 120 minutes of non-interrupted reading/writing instruction for students in grades K-3 and a minimum of 90 minutes in grades 4-5. Small group reading instruction is implemented during this protected instructional time to provided targeted, individual instruction based on the needs of students. We are excited to be able to offer gifted and talented services as well as special education services to all qualifying students.
We believe success begins here at NBES and we celebrate students’ accomplishments with academic celebrations each semester, daily PBIS Good Job Coupons, Cool To Be Kind Kids, our annual Honor's Night program, and many more recognition opportunities. Parental engagement is also encouraged through monthly Lunch and Learns, Parent Partners, PTA meetings and parent information nights. Through the partnership of all stakeholders, NBES is a place where we strive to nurture the brilliance in every student.
