Brooks County Schools

Brooks County Schools was recognized in January 2019 as a Law Enforcement Unit of Georgia as referenced in Code Section 20-8-1 in Title 10.  Willie Charles Clemons has been named as the Brooks County Schools Chief of Police.  Chief Clemons is a Brooks County native and graduated from the Police Academy at ABAC in 1989. He has a wealth of experience in law enforcement spanning the course of over 30 years.  Chief Clemons retired from the Quitman Police Department in 2018.  “Brooks County is home.  I am honored to continue serving the citizens of Brooks County as Chief of Police for Brooks County Schools.” stated Chief Clemons. Clemons is active in the community and is currently serving as Vice-President of Brooks County Family Connection. The Brooks County Board of Education committed to fully equipping the officers and department.  All District schools have a trained officer assigned to them.  The officers serve on a five-day week, eight-hour day schedule and after-school events.  These officers will support district-level services in the areas of planning and implementation of programs designed to effectively address security and school safety. Officers Stephen Ross, Simmie Jackson, Curtis Jones, and Randy Smith will be serving with Chief Clemons.  “We have a great team of officers that are here to support our schools and our children. We look forward to working with the staff and families of Brooks County Schools.” stated Chief Clemons.
