In a vibrant celebration of excellence in education, Brooks County Middle School proudly announces Victoria Inman as its Teacher of the Year. Ms. Inman, who teaches 8th grade social studies, is being recognized for her remarkable dedication, innovative teaching methods, and her ability to forge meaningful connections with her students.
Ms. Inman brings a rich academic background to her teaching role, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and another in History, as well as a Master’s in the Art of Teaching. In her five years at Brooks County Middle School, she has quickly distinguished herself as an educator who not only imparts knowledge but also inspires and motivates her students. She currently serves as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher.
Despite her many successes, Ms. Inman acknowledges that teaching comes with its challenges. The most difficult aspect, she shares, is seeing students doubt their own abilities. “It’s heartbreaking to see students question their capabilities when I know they are more than capable,” she said. Her mission is to build their confidence and help them realize their potential.
For Ms. Inman, the most rewarding part of teaching is the relationships she builds with her students. She believes that creating a positive and supportive classroom environment is crucial for student success. “The connections I make with my students are the most fulfilling part of my job,” she explained. “Seeing them grow and succeed is incredibly rewarding.”
Reflecting on her favorite teaching memory, Ms. Inman recounts a special moment during a school pep rally. “One of my students correctly answered a question about my content in front of the whole school,” she said with pride. “It was a moment of triumph for them and for me as their teacher.”
Ms. Inman’s journey to becoming a teacher was influenced by her own experiences as a student. Her third and eleventh-grade English teachers saw her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in education. “I was always very talkative in class,” she recalled with a smile. “My teachers suggested I become a teacher so I could channel my love of talking into something productive. Now, I get to talk about learning every day, and I love it!”
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Inman enjoys a range of hobbies that enrich her perspective and teaching style. She is an avid reader. Her love for traveling allows her to bring real-world experiences and global perspectives into her classroom.
The recognition of Ms. Inman as Teacher of the Year is a testament to her exceptional contributions to Brooks County Middle School. Her recognition as Teacher of the Year not only honors her individual achievements but also highlights the positive impact that dedicated educators can have on their students and the broader school community.
Ms. Inman will represent Brooks County Middle School for the 24-25 school year and will compete at the district level for the title of Brooks County School District’s Teacher of the Year. The BCSD Teacher of the Year will be named at the Teacher of the Year banquet hosted in the fall.
