-Increased speed of the storm has expanded the potential earliest arrival times.
- Per the National Weather Service (NWS), Helene "is shaping up to be an unprecedented event" for the region.
-Anticipated prolonged recovery period.
-Anticipated 6"-8" of rainfall.
- Unrelated forecasted thunderstorms throughout Wednesday evening will directly affect the roads within Brooks County.

🏈 Homecoming Festivities have been postponed and will now coincide with our game against Lanier County on Friday, October 4.
Here's the updated schedule:
Early Dismissal: October 4 @ 11:30 a.m.
Senior Night: Pre-game ceremony honoring our seniors on October 4
Homecoming Court: Announced during halftime on October 4
Homecoming Parade: October 4 at 4:30 p.m. Line up at 4:00 p.m. at Veterans Stadium.
Homecoming Dance: October 5 from 8:00 p.m.– 11:00 p.m. in the BCHS cafeteria.

We are so very proud of our students! These three outstanding students from Brooks County Middle School were honored with a certificate and a commemorative coin in recognition of their exceptional efforts in peacefully resolving conflicts, both on the school bus and in the classroom. Chief Casey Cope of the Brooks County Schools Police Department praised their actions, saying, 'These students have set a remarkable example of leadership and responsibility, showing that there are always peaceful ways to address challenging situations. We are proud of their quick thinking and dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.' #levelup
